March is the month of Upcycling! With only two weeks to go until our
Upcycled Selling Exhibition it is the perfect time to welcome new dealer, Robert Wilson of Ampersand Design, to The Old Cinema.
Robert specialises in upcycled printing letter blocks and has a very colourful and interesting array of boxes, individual letters and words to feast your eyes on.
From the age of 19, Robert studied archive conservation and fine leather book binding; being constantly surrounded by printing blocks was what got him into letters. People who worked at the printers would throw the blocks away if they weren't needed, but he would keep them, thinking he could do something creative and beautiful with them. Robert has been collecting them for 35 years and has spent ten years perfecting the letter-lid boxes:
